The Country Living Fair was on at Alexandra Palace between the 28th -31st March and I was fortunate enough to attend thanks to Good Results PR. I’ve heard of Country Living magazine but never attended the fair before, so was very curious to find out what gifts I could discover for my lovely readers. And I must say I was not disappointed. Read on to find out what treasures I discovered. You’re going to love these gift ideas.
The Great British Bee Co
The Great British Bee Co was my first stop. I’ve not heard of this company before but they have won an award for ‘Gift of the Year 2018’. I can see why they have won an award as they have wonderful products that are beautifully packaged. Their products range from food items such as honey and honey chocolate thins to gorgeously fragranced candles and hand balm (I was head over heels in love with the Lavender hand balm!). The products just look delightful and the gift boxes are so elegantly put together. I met the owner Ben who told me about the Company and how everything is sourced in Britain. An environmentally friendly gift for those who love honey. This would be an ideal gift for a keen gardener or someone who likes natural products. Find out more about this company and the products available here.
Made by Lottie Day
If you’re looking to buy a house warming gift or a present for someone who is house proud, then take a look at these lovely designs by Lottie Day. This lovely lady designs and screen prints various items for the home. There are napkins, lampshades, pouches and lots of other products that would bring a little bit of sunshine into any home. I would describe Lottie’s designs as fun, bright and Earthy. You can find out more information here.
If you know someone who likes embroidery then Jo Butcher sells the ideal gift for them. Jo Butcher is an embroidery artist who sells personally designed embroidery kits. I can barely thread a needle, so I was completely amazed by the products that Jo had created. It was simply stunning and I initially thought that her intricately embroidered artwork were actual paintings!. You can buy these kits from Jo and create your own masterpiece. These kits are not for novices however, you will require some experience in embroidery. Perfect for someone who likes crafts. Find out more here.
Vincent Trading create hand crafted, reclaimed, sustainably sourced and ethical and products for the home. I just loved everything Vincent Trading had at their stand. Ten and Six
I found a gem of a stall at the Country Living Fair. Sarah from Ten & Six creates beautiful handmade bags inspired by fairy tales and old movies and they are gorgeous. These bags are quirky and different and really well made. These bags make the most wonderful of gifts for quirky friends or just to cheer up your bestie. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Check out Sarah’s website.
Educational Learning Mats
Educational learning mats are double-sided worksheets that provide key learning points on the front and practice what you’ve learnt at the back. They can be given as an educational/learning gift or they can be given in Party bags. I was talking to the owner, who stated that they have launched party bags that include a learning mat and pen in a bag. It’s a good idea if you’re looking for a party bag with a difference and not the usual bag filled with lots of chocolate. For more information, take a look at the website.
Gower Cottage Brownies
Disclaimer: I take no responsibility for you dribbling. Want to send a sweet, gooey gift to someone? Then send them Gower Cottage Brownies. I bought these at the Fair and they were awesome. Edie Rose Ashley – Artist
Whilst I was walking around the Country Living Fair, I came across these paintings from Edie Rose Ashley and I was mesmerised. I knew I had to put them in my blog. Edie uses Acrylic paint for her canvas paintings and has created beautiful vibrant pieces of art. I’m not best qualified to talk about art, so I’ll just let my photos do the talking. These pieces would make a very beautiful centrepiece for any home and would make one awesome gift. Check out Edie Rose Ashley’s art here.
And that is my gift guide from the Country Living Fair 2019. I would recommend people to go as its a nice day out with lots of workshops and masterclasses. There is something for everyone.
I would love to know what you all think? What is your favourite gift? Anything that you wouldn’t choose to gift? Anything you would gift to yourself? I think I’m going to go have a well deserved cup of tea now and see if I can get my husband to buy me a box of the awesome Gower Cottage brownies.
Until next time, the Gift Goonie is over and out.
