If you’re looking for Valentines gifts for him this season, you’ve come to the right place. This gift guide has all the best Valentines gifts for him according to his personality type.

What kind of personality does your partner have? Is it anything like my husband who is the man- child stuck in the 80’s and loves everything retro gaming to pop culture from that era? Or is he a fan of tech and electronics? Maybe he is a music lover? Whatever he is, I have a gift guide that will help you find a perfect gift for him this Valentines.

    Let’s begin…

    The Techie Guy

    Koble Carl Smart Table

There are so many gadgets and gizmo’s out there, you can sometimes be overwhelmed by what to buy. I’m no tech expert, but I like to buy my husband (yes, him again) something useful and techie-fied (not a real word, but you know what I mean). There is a really great gift I recently found that will be loved by your partner and you can reap the benefits of this too.  A Koble Carl Smart side table.  This table has:

    1. Wireless charging
    2. Bluetooth speakers
    3. USB Charging points
    4. Touch sensitive buttons to control music and
    5. It is aesthetically pleasing.

It’s basically where your guy can put all his techie stuff and its super useful. My technology (slightly) obsessed Husband thought this was a good idea, so I assume your Valentine will love it too.

The Guy Who Is Always Late

    Gorgeous Velvet Alarm Clock

He needs a clock and then there is no excuse for him to be late. I found this beautiful little bedside alarm clock from Red Candy. It’s called the Karlsson Lush velvet alarm clock and it is Lush. A thing of beauty needed for the one who is always late.

    The Worrier

The Guy who is worried WW3 is gonna start tomorrow or the one who sneezes and thinks he’s got the CoronaVirus. You know the one who worries about everything. Well, give hime one less thing to worry about. Buy him a RFID blocking wallet from Amazon. This wallet basically protects your cards being read by handheld scanners. It’s one way of stopping electronic theft. It’s a good idea and a great gift for your Worrisome Valentine.

    The Rockstar

    Headphone Display Stand

Or the one who thinks he’s a Rockstar. If your guy is a musician or really into his music, how about a Rock On Headphone display stand by Prezzybox. These look awesome and are great to display your headphones on. Also great if your partner is constantly mis-placing his headphones.  Accommodates both over-ear and in-ear headphones. **

The One who likes to look after himself

    Ted Baker Manicure Set

Does your man spend more time in front of the mirror than you? He likes to be perfectly presentable and doesn’t like a hair out of place. Then this gift is definitely for him. Get him a stylish and superbly present Ted Baker Manicure set.  An excellent little kit and it’s Ted Baker so it is stylish to a T.

    The Romantic

    Personalised Chocolates

He’s romantic and loves the little gestures. He’s a little old school and likes the traditional. So, what could be more traditional than a box of chocolates? However this is no ordinary box of chocolates, its a romantic heart shaped personalised Valentines gift box just for him. Check out this range of personalised Chocolate gift boxes from PrezzyBox. **

    The Vegan

If he’s Vegan, then take a look at my Amazing Vegan Gift Guide, you will not be disappointed.

    Final Opinions

And there you have it, a round up of some great Valentines Gifts for him according to his personality.  I would say my hubby (yes, him again – I mention this guy so much you’d think I was married to him) is a mixture of the techie guy and the one who is always late. Would love to know which your partner is?

Also tell me, what are you doing for Valentines and what is your partner getting?

Comment here or talk to me on my social media channels, I promise I don’t bite.

  • Thoughtful Gifts For Men from TrendHim

    AD | Gifted

The majority of Men in my life are all about practicality. They want gifts that they can actually get lots of use out of. I have three Brothers all with different tastes, a fussy Husband and a Dad who is impressed by absolutely nothing. I’ve spent the majority of my life buying gifts for Men so I’m a dab hand at buying thoughtful gifts for Men.

When an opportunity to work for a company that sells Men’s accessories came along I eagerly jumped at the chance. TrendHim sent me a gifted product to try and give a verdict on what I thought.

TrendHim is a company based in Denmark and they sell high-end stylish items for guys. From belts to bags and hats to watches. If you’re looking for male accessories to gift, then this is the site for you.  You’ll find something even the fussiest and hard to buy for man will love.

I’ve picked my Top Five Gift Items from the TrendHim Website. These are gifts that I would actually buy for the Men in my life. I’ve picked practical and thoughtful gifts for Men that just happen to be super stylish too.

Montreal Dotty Black & Tan RFID Leather Wallet

    RFID Wallet

RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification Devices. They are wafer thin chips that are found in Credit cards and passports. Identity theft via these RFID chips is on the rise, but you can protect your personal details from being stolen by getting an RFID wallet like this one gifted to me by TrendHim. This is something my Husband really advocates. That is why something like this makes a very thoughtful gift for him. Apart from the RFID blocking feature, this is actually a well made, good quality wallet and makes a fabulous gift.

Lucleon Montreal Mini Tan Leather Sling bag

    Mini Leather Sling Bag

Sling bags are super trendy at the moment and also really useful to carry things around in. I love this one on the TrendHim website. It is functional and looks great. This is one of those bags Men can carry and it goes with everything. If you know a guy who has lots of things to carry around with him or needs something for work purposes, then this makes a very thoughtful gift for him.

    Black Edition Beard Kit

Three out of the Five family members mentioned earlier have Beards, so buying Beard kits is essential for me. This premium quality Beard kit is exactly what somebody like my Husband would love. Grooming for Men is a big thing and I honestly didn’t realise how much maintenance a beard required, but it’s a lot. So if you are looking to buy a thoughtful gift for the bearded man in your life, then this is the one. It comes with a razor tool too to keep those pesky neck hairs in check, which is not something I’ve seen in normal High Street kits. Thoughtful, practical and  useful gift idea.

Salt and Hide Black Leather Gloves

Gloves are a very safe gift. It is very unlikely that any Man in your life won’t be glad to receive a pair of gorgeous Leather Gloves. But the gloves at Trendhim have a few extras that make these  a very thoughtful gift compared to other gloves out there. Firstly they are perforated to increase breathability, which means not getting sweaty hands and secondly they have a touchscreen patch on the index fingers so whoever you buy these for can still use their phone without having to take their gloves off. I like these small but important touches.

    Seymour Phantom Watch

    Seymour Phantom Watch

A sleek and stylish watch is guaranteed to make your man smile ear to ear and TrendHim have loads of lovely items on their site. I really like the look of the Phantom watch. It’s one of those watches you can dress up and dress down. This gift can also be personalised and makes a thoughtful gift for the man in your life.

    Final thoughts

Here are some ideas on buying some thoughtful gifts for men from the TrendHim website. I hope you like these ideas. I really loved the Gifted item and it is something my Husband really liked. You don’t need to spend lots of money to buy gifts, you just need to put in a little effort and you’ll end up with some great gifts. TrendHim have so much choice and a wide range of items all under one website. This makes it so much easier to buy gifts for so many different men in one place.

If you want more ideas on thoughtful gifts for men, my Father’s Day gift guide is one not to be missed.

  • Gift Ideas for The Retro Gamer – Gifts for Him

Hands up, who has a partner/friend/relative who is into gizmos and games? Do you know someone who is nostalgic about gaming and likes retro games as it reminds them of their childhood? For me, that person is my husband. He, however married a technophobe who knows nothing about this genre they call retro gaming. So what do I do when I have to buy him a gift? (I have to buy him lots –  birthdays/anniversaries/celebrations/father’s day). Well I research and listen very carefully to things he’s interested in. I also try to give myself plenty of time. Anyway, I wanted to share my ideas with everyone like me (the ones who want to buy awesome techie/gaming gifts, but not sure where to start. I am getting my hubby to help me with this as I feel his knowledge is far superior on this subject. So let us begin with Gift Ideas for the Retro Gamer.

My hubby is the type of person who loves playing computer games, and loves retro gaming and gadgets. If you want gift ideas for this type of person, then read on.

    Games Consoles

My other half is very fond of retro games consoles as he owned quite a few in his younger years. So last year I bought him a mini SNES – super Nintendo entertainment system. The original SNES was very popular in the 90’s and was one of the best-selling consoles of its time. It featured many popular games e.g. Street Fighter II, Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Cart to name a few. So if you’ve ever heard your other half go on about how awesome these were when they were growing up, then this present is a good one to go for.  My husband has a few consoles in his collection now (see above photos). There are lots of different ones on the market and most cost around the same. This is an amazing Gift Idea for the Retro gamer.

    2. Raspberry Pi 3

    Raspberry Pi 3

If the person you’re buying a gift for is into building computers, has some technical knowledge and likes retro games then the next present is definitely a winner. This gift is also very reasonably priced so it won’t cost you the Earth. Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ (this is the latest version) is a perfect gift for computer enthusiasts.

It is relatively inexpensive, with the bare bones version coming in at about £35. The operating system required for gaming – Retro Pi – is easily available online, and there are tons of tutorials out there to guide you through installation. Once setup, it is easy to download and transfer your favourite games onto the Pi; there are a host of websites with a huge catalogue of available games for every retro console imaginable. All you need to finish it off is a pair of retro game controllers (also available on eBay/Amazon for as little as £5.99) and away you go!

      3. Game Boy Mug

Want Gift Ideas for a retro gamer that don’t break the budget? Retro merchandise is a super easy gift to buy and can be very low cost. What kind of games is your recipient into? Pacman, Street Fighter, Super Mario – the list is endless. You can pick up so many mugs, key rings, mobile phone cases and so much more.

    4. Comic Con

If you want to join in the fun and embrace (the dark side) culture of retro gaming yourself you can book various experiences. One of the gifts I recently gave to someone was tickets to Comic-con (this took place in November 2018 in London). I was also going to attend this event but could not make it. However, you can attend with the person you’re gifting. Comic-con is about all things gaming be it current or retro. There are lots of people who attend these events every year and you also get celebrities attending too. Paul Bettany made an appearance in 2018.

The date for this years Comic-con is 24th-26th May 2019 at London Excel. if you do decide to buy these, I would recommend paying extra and buying the priority tickets. I know someone who went and they reported back that they were glad to buy they bought priority tickets as they didn’t have to wait in the long queues.

    5. Bar top arcade

Finally, I saved the best and the more expensive present till last. This is retro gold. A bar top gaming arcade. Before you buy this as a gift, you have to be sure your recipient is going to like it as it does cost a lot but also ensure that they have room for this as it takes up a lot of space (It’s roughly the size of a mini fridge). But if you do have the budget, then this is an awesome gift to buy. Prices on these can vary, so do shop around. I bought one for £400.00. If this is something you’re looking to buy, then you need to make sure it is good quality.

I can’t stress enough though; this is an expensive present. Only buy if you can afford it. It’s the thought and effort put into the present that is valuable, not the price.

So, there you have it, my take on gifts for the retro gamer. I’m not a gamer myself and don’t have much knowledge on the subject, but I do feel that these gift ideas are great for all budgets and will be loved by those who like retro gaming.
